Program duration Each term is 10-11 weeks in length.
4 terms per year.
Minimum enrollment of one term.
Lessons per week
  • 18 - 21 class hours per week, including 12 - 15 hours of core language skills development and 3 - 6 hours of electives.
  • Students also spend at least 2 hours per week in the Conversant Program.
  • In addition, students are expected to engage in at least 20 hours of directed study outside the classroom in research projects, group projects, learning center activities and daily preparation for classes.
Levels Beginner to advanced.
Progression requirements to a pathway program from Academic English
  • Successful completion of academic English level 4 or higher (must pass ALL classes) or
  • score 5.5 or higher on the IELTS exam or
  • score 60 iBT or 500 PBT on the TOEFL exam.

AN INTENSIVE ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSE
The Academic English program is a rigorous and intensive program designed to prepare students for entry to university study. The program will help you learn necessary study skills and develop English language proficiency.
Program structure:

• Course work covers the core skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking
